If I upgrade to continue as a customer this weighs if it is worth the hassle.Ĭurrently I'm disgruntled with plugin developers and other companies that have their software tied to the old parallel dongle. Affordable, complete, easy to learn and use, LightWave is well established as one of the leading 3D systems on the market. No answer to email goes down in my memory and file for the future. NewTek LightWave 3D is designed for independent artists who desire control of their vision from start to finish. Not answering email sent to customer service should not take more than 72 hours to answer. I measure customer satisfaction by the way a company treats you. It is too much hassle and headache to switch, even though your new computer doesn't have the parallel port. Īlso NewTek apparently doesn't answer email to get an invoice sent out, I've waited 8 days and sent two emails asking for the invoice, Been on hold for 45+ minutes, I don't have time to waste to be on hold as I have only certain times of availablilty in my schedule for stuff like this]. and doesn't reflect to real product's stability.I recently switch, have had problems from Worley not getting back to me with a new license, Eyeon Software for DFX+ refuses to give new license since NewTek did not send a paper invoice with the package only email. But I've had problems with playing Payback (the game) with the dongle connected.Īnother thing to note is that the cracked version of T3D v3 that was floating around is/was very very unstable. I've never had any problems using T3D becasue of the dongle. ideal for previews of long animations.Īlso regarding the dongle. ![]() And if you want fast previews without anitalias you can get a frame rendered in 1-5s. On this machine it often takes between 20-60s for a frame at 800圆00 resolution. I'd like to get hold of uncracked versions of whichever Scala product used that dongle, as well as TVPaint 3.0 and Lightwave. My system is a A3k CSPPC + with 96MB of Ram, a CVisionPPC and some other nice goodies Rainbow Technologies Sentinel Scribe, would have come with some version of Lightwave (Newtek 3D rendering program). Username: Password: Remember Me : Reset Password. Lightwave 10.1 Build 2161 x32/圆4 Bit + Dongle Emulator. With more advanced scenes you should have at least 32MB ram free, preferrably 64MB or more when you start rendering. LightWave is responsible for more artists winning Emmy Awards than any other 3D application. I have not heard anything about an Amiga Lightwave3D 5.1 version, could that be a PC version you. That is perhaps why you cant save or load anything. The Amiga versions need a Video Toaster card installed, or a Dongle key installed (in the parallel port I think) for Lightwave3D to work. and the resultsĪnother important thing to keep in mind with T3D is to have quite alot of free memory available, if it runs out of memory you're facing a reboot. The Amiga version of Lightwave3D ended at 5.0, not 3.5.I've made several animations with more than 800 frames with no real problems. when staging or making animation it's stable and also when rendering. The bugs I've encountered is mostly when using the modelling stuff. I just avoid some of the modelling tools (the more advanced ones) and then it works pretty good, sure you should save once in a while when modelling just to be on the safe side. Also I've run into some error requesters which were impossible to get rid of. or a Dongle key installed (in the parallel port I think) for Lightwave3D to work. I've rarely had any "real crashes" with T3D v3 either, but I've run into the "Do you really want to quit"-bug quite a few times (where the quit requster pops-up and you can't get rid of it). Lightwave 3D Part of the Video Toaster package when it was originally released in 1990. ![]() LightWave 11 is used for all genres of 3D content creation-from film and broadcast visual effects production, to architectural visualization, and game design'. I really like the interface and the new stuff in v3. LightWave 11 incorporates many new features, such as instancing, flocking and fracturing tools, flexible Bullet Dynamics, Pixologic Zbrush support, and more. I'm using T3D v3, although v2.1 was 100% stable on my machine and never crashed.
